Ascension Church functions as a Pentecostal or Charismatic Church and is registered as one of the Assemblies of God International Fellowship Pentecostal Churches . It is also a member church of the World Conference of Independent Methodist Churches. It comes under the classification of being a Church Plant within the denomination and has full representation to the Annual Church Synod.

Senior Pastor: Stephen Houston

Full Title: Revd. Dr. Stephen Houston DD

Stephen’s official title is Revd. Dr. Stephen Houston, as he holds a Doctorate degree, but everyone calls him Stephen, Reverend, Pastor, Dr. Houston and sometimes even Dr. H. Stephen was ordained in 1978 and is qualified and ordained by the Assemblies of God Pentecostal Denomination’s International Fellowship (AGIF). He also holds ordination through the World Conference of Independent Methodist Churches. Senior Pastor's wife: Jenny Houston.

Jenny is a Senior Care staff member at Pilgrim Home's Leonora Care Home Wood Lane Chippenham, Wiltshire. Her dad, Revd. Philip Grist is a well known Baptist Pastor and particularly well known locally. She was born in India to Pastor Philip and Mary Grist who were then Baptist missionaries to that country.

Between them, Stephen and Jenny have six children, six grand children and two, soon to be three, great grand children.

Assisting Pastor: Barry Scott

Full Title: Revd. Barry S. Scott BD

Barry was ordained in 2007 and presently holds his ordination credential with the Assemblies of God Pentecostal Church's International Fellowship. AGIF

Assisting Pastor's wife: Rita Scott BD

Rita is a Bible Teacher, majoring on Salvation, Baptism, Holiness and Bible Prophecy.

Between them, Barry and Rita have eight children and sixteen grand children.
